Great War Race: Mikhel Raïm estrena la nueva clásica de Flandes

Mikhel Raïm es el primer ganador de la Great War Remembrance Race. El estonio ha sido capaz de rematar un ataque de tres ciclistas y ha sorprendido a los Quick Step.

Desde luego, la carrera se ha convertido en una verdadera batalla campal entre los distintos ciclistas. Con buen tiempo y sin que la lluvia embarrase los tramos de adoquín, los corredores han dado un soberano espectáculo de ataques al más puro estilo ‘flandrien’.

Mezclando momentos en los que se sucedían los ataques de un lado y de otro con fases de parón y mucha sangre fría entre los perseguidores, donde Quick Step tenía mayoría, Van Hecke (Sport Vlaanderen), Bernas (CCC Sprandi Polkowice) y Mikhel Raïm (Israel CA) han logrado destacarse con unos segundos de ventaja y la falta de continuidad detrás les ha dado vida.

Raïm, ganador de etapa en Palencia en la pasada Vuelta a Castilla y León, era el más rápido del trío cabecero y, pese a que se han vigilado muchísimo y los perseguidores se han acercado peligrosamente, el estonio ha conseguido finalmente imponerse a Berman en el sprint. Van Hecke ni ha tratado de disputarle la llegada.
